DIY e-collar pet Halloween costume | Lion
October 28, 2019
Halloween is only a few days away! Are you still in need of a fun, creative costume for your pet? Check out this fun DIY lion Halloween costume for your pet using an e-collar and a few supplies from your local craft store.
- Tan and brown fleece
- Fabric glue
- Permanent marker
- Scissors
- E-collar*
Step 1: Trace the outline of the e-collar twice. Once with the e-collar facing you, then again after turning the fleece upside down.
Step 2: Cut out the outline of the e-collars leaving a small portion of the two outlines connected. Position the fleece on the e-collar so it will cover both sides of the e-collar.
Step 3: Cut out the fleece where it overlaps the squares needed to place the e-collar on the pet.
Step 4: Cut long strips of brown fleece, fold in half and glue the two ends together. Then glue to the outside of the cone.
Step 5: To make the lion ears, cut a large ear shape from the tan fleece and a smaller from the brown fleece. Glue together using fabric glue and then glue to the e-collar. Repeat for the other ear. For added stability you can use cardboard for the back of the ears.
Step 6: Have your pet try on their new lion costume! (Please do not leave your pet unattended while wearing their costume.)
*Please consult your veterinarian when sizing your pet for an e-collar.
