Lactated Ringers is a sterile, nonpyrogenic solution containing isotonic concentrations of electrolytes in water for injection. Lactated Ringers is administered by intravenous infusion for parenteral replacement of extracellular losses of fluid and electrolytes. This solution is a water and electrolyte replenisher. Lactated Ringers Injection is indicated for parenteral replacement of extracellular losses of fluid and electrolytes as required by the clinical condition of the patient.

• pH is adjusted with sodium chloride
• Compatible with blood or blood components
• Contains no antimicrobial agents
• It may be administered prior to or following the infusion of blood through the same administration set (i.e., as a priming solution)
• Added to or infused concurrently with blood components, or used as a diluent in the transfusion of packed erythrocytes
