The endotracheal tube design incorporates a Magill curve and features a radiopaque line to assist in radiographic visualization. The tube is inserted into a patient's trachea through the patient's mouth in order to ensure that the airway is not closed off and the air is able to reach the lungs. The tracheal tube is regarded as the most reliable and available medical device for protecting a patient's airway.
