Licensed for vaccination of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age
or older as an aid in the prevention of canine parvoviral enteritis caused by
canine parvovirus (CPV). In addition, cross-protection against CPV
type 2c has been demonstrated. This is a high-titer, modified-live canine
parvovirus (CPV) strain attenuated by low passage on an established canine cell
line. The combination of high titer and low passage gives VANGUARD Plus CPV the
immunogenic properties capable of stimulating active immunity in the presence
of maternal antibodies.
- Inherently greater immunogenicity of a low-passage CPV produced at high titer can help stimulate active immunity in the presence of maternal antibodies
- Serum neutralization titers as low as 1:4 have been shown to prevent active immunization by conventional vaccines
- This has been shown to successfully immunize dogs with pre-vaccination serum neutralization (SN) titers, some as high as 1:64
