The Mayo is the general purpose Surgical Scissor in which the blade occupies approximately one third of the length of the scissor. The 14cm straight Mayo is the standard veterinary Surgical Scissor.

With supercut blades, one blade is sharpened to a tapered edge which greatly enhances the ability of the scissor to slice through tissues. The standard scissor has much more of a crushing action. Identified by having black handles.

Each style of Scissor is available in four different qualities which vary according to blade construction and cutting characteristics. They can be identified by handle colour.
