A burette is a calibrated in-line chamber on a primary or secondary administration set for the purpose of administering medications or fluids as an alternative to using small 50 mL IV bags. The spike of the burette tubing connects with a larger IV bag, and the burette chamber is filled to hold the desired amount of fluid to be administered. Burette sets are often used with patients overnight to prevent accidental fluid overload. The length is 105 inches with 60 Dp/mL 150 mL chamber, and 2 ports.
